Description Corrective Action Training: 30-Minute Breaks COURSE OVERVIEW This Corrective Action Training module provides drivers with remedial training related to 30-minute breaks. Specifically, this course is designed to remind drivers of the hours-of-service 30-minute break rule to prevent violations and fatigue-related crashes. After completing this course, drivers will be able to: Discuss the physical effects that impact your safety if you work too long without a break. Explain the Department of Transportation’s (DOT’s) 30-minute break rule. Identify the consequences of not taking the required breaks. COURSE TOPICS Introduction Stress & fatigue decrease safety Stop driving after 8 consecutive hours Eight hours of work equals a 30-minute break. Take a break. Suddenly don’t qualify for exemption? Follow the break rule. Avoid crashes and fines. Do your part for highway safety. ONLINE COURSE DURATION Approximately 5 minutes PASS MARK Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
