This is a review of the 50-count 32 oz. disposable bowls with lids by HOUZZKINGZ USA.I like these containers since both the lid and bowl are microwave-safe. Usually, containers’ lids aren’t able to be put in the microwave. This makes it easy to store and reheat leftovers without the hassle of washing extra dishes, and it helps prevent splatters in the microwave. However, one downside is the small vents in the lid. I understand that these are likely intended for use by restaurants that need to store still-hot food that requires ventilation, but most of the food I store isn’t hot to begin with. When I wanted to store some room-temp food and use these for the first time, I decided to transfer the container itself into a gallon-sized zipper bag, which fit perfectly. I feel that my food is safer this way, as it prevents any air from getting in. It will also help prevent odors from escaping while stored in the fridge. While it may seem like a bit of a workaround, I don’t mind putting in a little extra effort, given the convenience of reheating the food in the container without having to wash anything else. I am confused, though, as to how it is described as airtight since it has those vents. I have removed a star for this. The container itself seems durable and substantial, if not all that roomy. You can see in the photo that it accommodated a drumstick and a small amount of a side but it probably wouldn’t hold much more.I do have concern that it could leak if I did not put it in the bag thanks to the vents. For this reason and having to use the bag, I would like to have access to this same product without any vents if that is something the maker would ever consider offering. This would make it easier and more convenient for someone like me.In the meantime, I have found a solution that works for me, and I look forward to continuing to use these bowls and lids. At just twenty bucks for fifty, it is well worth the price, especially since this product solves several problems.
