I think that’s worth mentioning, since I’ll never forget it, but not really important.These tubes are exactly what they need to be, and they can be used repeatedly. Eventually, the plastic hinge will break, but that’s to be expected with something like this.It says these are squeeze tubes, so I can’t knock the product for this, but know that you can only open them by squeezing the sides under the lid. There is a lip visible in the photos, which I thought was on the lid, making it so you could push or pull that lip to open it. That lip is only on the tube itself and sticks out further than the lid. It actually prevents you from opening it by the lid.As for squeezing the tube to pop the lid with your finger tips, it requires that you squeeze quite hard. After a few uses, it becomes slightly easier. It probably requires too much strength for someone with arthritis or weak fingers.The upside to these points about opening the tube is that whatever you put inside is more secure when you put one in your pocket or toss it in a bag. These are much less likely to open up inside a bag. It also helps to ensure they remain water resistant while closed.Another benefit to closing so tightly is that no smells escape. I doubt they would pass a dog’s nose, but people won’t smell what’s in your tubes.I wouldn’t call these “childproof” since it would pop open easily if bit, and although it takes some strength to squeeze it with finger tips, it would be relatively easy to squeeze with a full hand if the hands were small. It would also pop open if sat on.If you would be storing anything dangerous for a baby/child, you’ll want these to be somewhere a child can’t get at them. That’s the case even if they were childproof, so this doesn’t change my rating.Overall, these are very sturdy and convenient tubes. At less than 12 cents per tube, they are also a good value.Overall, if you need bulk storage tubes for people without arthritis, this is a great option. I think these would be perfect for most people’s needs for tubes like this.
